Installation problems involve the inability of the user to install the
software program on the hard drive. Registration problems involve issues
associated with the
inability of the user to register the product on-line or the
registration screen continues to appear even after registration has been
completed.
Problem #1--Software will not automatically
start installing.
After inserting the program CD and closing the drive, the installation
process does not automatically start.
Solution:
Open the contents of the CD with Windows Explorer to view all the files and folders. Scroll down the list and double click the Setup.exe file. The
installation routine should then begin.
Problem #2--Installation CD won't install.
After putting in the CD and closing the drive door nothing happens or
sometimes odd noises come from the drive. Installation never starts. The
drive's access lights glows but nothing happens.
Solution:
Open the drive door and look at the underside of the CD, remove with a
lint-free cloth any dirt or debris, if present. If scratches are
noticed,
the CD is cracked or the CD won't start after re-inserting it in the drive,
call Boyer Safety for a replacement CD.
Problem #3--During installation, the software
rejects the serial number I type in.
Solution: Our serial numbers contain numbers and letters. Be sure
you input the correct serial number sequence and remember the letter are
case-sensitive, always type letters in upper case.
Problem #4--Can't register using the on-line
registration form.
After installation, you attempt to register your software by completing
the on-line registration form. But when you try to complete and
send the registration you get an error message indicating that the
registration did not complete. Note: some corporate firewalls prevent
some programs from sending such data or you might not be connected to
the Internet.
Solution:
Return to the registration form and instead of registering on-line
register by fax. Print the registration form and fax it to Boyer Safety
Services. Another option would be to complete the paper registration
form included with the software and either fax or mail it to Boyer
Safety Services. Problem
#5--Every time you open
the program an opening dialog box indicates that you have not registered
your program with Boyer Safety Services, when in fact you have.
Solution:
A simple utility needs to be run to reset your software so this screen
does not appear again. Follow the steps below:
Step 1--Click here to
download a small file entitled: (RegsoftRegistrationFix.exe)..
Step 2--On the pop-up box that will appear, simply click
"Open" or "Run" to run the small utility file. If
the utility program ran successfully you will see a pop-up box that
says, "Regsoft Settings Updated". You should now be
able to open your program without seeing the registration dialog box re-appear. If you have doubts about whether or not your program is
registered, please call Boyer Safety Services, Inc. at (800) 664-8401. Problem
#6--When
opening a Regsoft program you get a message indicating that your user's
license is about to expire, what's this message all about?
Solution:
Regsoft products have to be renewed periodically in order for the user
to have continued use of the program. We do this because of the
time-sensitive nature of our product. The last thing we want to have
happen is a company that bases its compliance efforts on out-dated
regulations. Unless you renew your user license the program will stop
running. Renewal cycles are 12 months long plus we give you a 15 day
grace period before the software locks out. We recommend that you renew your license the first time you see
this message to make sure you always have access to Regsoft when you
need it, call Boyer Safety Services and have your credit card
handy. We'll provide you with a updated registration number that you
will need to input into the software.
